In Unit Two we can begin to construct some simple garments. Three styles of tops and three styles of bottoms are divided one each to a Lesson Module for a complete outfit. Each set can be mixed-and-matched with the others for wardrobe flexibility. Here the student will learn about how to cut patterns out of fabric. Real seams (not just pieces sewn together) with proper seam finishes and pressing are introduced with basic straight seams and easy, gentle curved seams. After completion of all the projects in Unit Two Orange Group, the student should be able to construct any one of the six projects again, completely on their own, and without any reference to the instructions. The goal is mastery and internalization and underdstanding of the skills presented.
